  For the 5$ entry fee you get 1000+ games at your disposal. Bring a date or friends and have a great time. The newly added hipster beer section is great and the food they serve is fresh. I recommend one of the desserts as the owners wife bakes them herself and they are better then most restaurants!

  I was really impressed with this place. Fair prices, no time limit, a good variety of foods, and awesome staff! They had all sorts of games for people of different ages and interests. Family games, classics, party games and some more advanced ones for avid gamers. Their service was excellent and the space is well laid out. Will definitely go again. The limited free parking on one side and more parking on the other that’s free after 9 is a good perk as well.

  This place was a lot of fun. I’ve been to one other similar pub-style in Ottawa, and it was not as nice as Mancala Monk (MM). MM is really spacious and well lit, with an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. Not dark and dingy as some other board game cafes can be. All the staff are super nice and they have a huge selection of games from kids/family, party style, to more intricate games. They’ve got something for everyone, especially for those hesitant to try board games. The cover is around $5 plus tax, and then drinks/coffee and snacks are at a very fair price. It was a great place! Will return when back in town.

  The Monk is a neat place. Had never been before but it was a great experience. The staff are nice and make it a point to introduce themselves and make you feel welcome. If you go on a weekend, make sure you call and reserve a table as they do get busy. 5 dollars a person is perfectly reasonable. They have a ton of games to choose from. The place had a "Friends" feel to it. Will recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out!

  Staff are helpful and patient and will teach you new games, but make a reservation as the place fills up quickly.

  I have been here 2 times and I loved it. the staff are really nice, really sweet and they are always smiling. If you need any help in a game they are able to answer your questions. The food is yummy and nice to snack on while you play. don't expect extravagant meals; you're supposed to be playing games anyways! it's a wonderful atmosphere.
