Not a very good dog park, it's not the SPCA's fault but here's what I learned from going to the 3 Dog parks close to me. Unkind people go to SPCA, people who don't want to socialize with other people go to Ancaster, and nice friendly people go to Stoney Creek

No longer support the SPCA. I found a stray beagle several years ago and tried to take her there. They said I'd have to pay to leave her, and I explained that she wasn't my dog and perhaps they could try to find her owner. They said if I wasn't willing to pay the fee then I'd have to leave her in the back kennels and someone would get her in the morning. REALLY? I walked back there with her and the kennels were full of feces, no water or food bowls. I couldn't take her home at the time (not my house), and I didn't want to let her go, so I put her in the kennel with some water. I called in the morning and they said she was not there and must have gotten out. Very unprofessional and just looking for money and donations.

A complete utter disgrace. The side the SPCA uses is fine, but the side open to the pubic is littered with broken lawn chairs, broken fences - your dog can either be seriously injured or escape.

Bottom line, I no longer support this "charity". Money hungry, and aren't genuinely looking for good homes for animals.

Also went there recently to look at adopting, and considered a senior dog. I was given a very hard time about having a full time job, meanwhile almost every pet owner that I know works full time. I'm surprised at this since they're so greedy for cash, at least they'd get their $350 adoption fee from a working person.
