  Purchased a large bag of cat food. After a month of my cats puking and not eating I called Pet Valu to get the name of the food and when I told the lady what food I purchased she asked me I would buy such bad food for my cats. I BOUGHT IT FROM YOU AND WAS TOLD IT WAS ALL NATURAL. She then told me that I didn't get it at her store because they don't have the big bags and that I have a responsibility to read the label, and I told her that when a professed expert on the subject tells me that the food is all natural, I feel that should be good enough. I told her that after reading the label, I would never know what is good or bad for my cats and that I rely on the people that sell it to inform me. There is nothing worse then spending money, then being told it was a bad buy from the same people that took your money for it. Hopefully the supplier is a little more receptive to complaints. Unfortunately, I have 3 cats and I use a large feeder and I threw the bag out the day I filled the feeder.

  This is the first time I have ever been disappointed by a Pet Valu store but I recently moved to Hamilton and needed a new place to purchase Performatrin Ultra . I have been there twice as every few months I need a couple of large bags for my four dogs. The owner is not very friendly and seems to have a problem with lifting the bags even if you request assistance. (I am 5' tall and in my 50's). Hopefully the Wilson location lives up to its reviews and I can take my business there.

  If I could give 0 stars I would. The man who works here (I think he's the owner) is very rude and unwelcoming. There's been times where I went to browse in the store and he followed me around. He was very short and rude to me when I asked him questions. The last time I went I brought my puppy in and he became excited because he saw another dog and he peed on the ground. I was chatting with the owner of the dog when the man rudely interrupted me and told me to clean up my dog's pee, shoving papertowels in my face. I have no problem cleaning up after my dogs but his whole demeanor is very unwelcoming and he makes you feel as though you're an inconvenience on his life. If you're working for a pet store (or own a pet store) I think it is essential to provide excellent customer service and at least have a passion for animals. I will continue taking my business down the street to Global Pet Foods where the prices are much more reasonable and the staff welcome me and my dogs with open arms.

  Clean and freindly staff, just didn't carry the dog food that I was looking for. Had to go to PetSmart.

  Man who works here is not welcoming or very friendly. Last time i was here the store smelled so bad of cat pee I had to leave. Store is always clean though. Some overpriced items compared to other pet stores. There's one woman who works here who works at paulmacs too and is very friendly and helpful! There was another woman though who I asked if she had clickers for training, she had no idea what i was talking about and said i should just use my hand for giving my dog treats. She insisted they did not sell them. On a later date i found the area where the clickers were. A clicker is used to teach your dog to associate words and actions with treats. The woman actually laughed at me to for asking about the training devices... terrible employee but havent seen her since.
